The untapped potential of entrepreneurial women
A national research report exploring the enterprising mindset of women in their 40s and 50s.
This research helps to complete a picture on female entrepreneurship that was first formed when 89 Degrees East and the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA) collaborated on research into entrepreneurship among women aged between 18 and 24 years in 2021.
It proves women in their 40s and 50s have many ideas for new businesses, services and products, but too few of these ideas materialise. Unless we as a society develop tools and resources to help these women translate their experiences and ideas into business success, entrepreneurial potential will continue to be wasted.
This report draws on the views and perspectives of women in this age bracket, providing significant insight into the factors that spark, drive and diminish entrepreneurial potential. Most importantly, the report explores the kinds of tools and resources needed to unlock previously untapped female entrepreneurialism.
